Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump plans plans on attending the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend, a track spokesperson confirmed.
This news comes while Trump is currently involved in a 2016 election interference trial in New York. His former attorney, Michael Cohen, concluded a four-day testimony yesterday afternoon and closing arguments for the trial could happen this week.
As the presumptive Republican nominee for the 2024 election, Trump may use Sunday’s visit to campaign for voters in North Carolina. He won the state in 2020 with 49.9% of the vote, defeating President Joe Biden by around 70,000 votes.
It remains unclear if Trump will make any public appearances during the race or if he will be there solely as a spectator.
