The aim of the game was to reach 99 pounds of fish first, so the bigger the fish caught, the faster you could reach the target weight. The heavier fish were towards the bottom of the lake and more difficult catch. This is like the fish table games of today but rather than going for the largest fish in terms of weight, the aim is to catch the fish worth the biggest amount of money. However, the fish worth the most money are the most difficult to catch. So, fish table games originated in Asia and have taken inspiration from classic video games, such as Fishing Derby.
