A Statesville math teacher has just been suspended after being suspected of inappropriate conduct with a student.
According to officials with Iredell-Statesville Schools, 31-year-old Elizabeth L. Wright was suspended with pay this past Friday after officials learned that Wright was possibly involved with inappropriate conduct with a student through social media.
Once the school system learned of the possible conduct, an investigation was launched with the Special Victims Unit and the Iredell Sheriff’s Office. Both investigations are currently ongoing.
Wright taught was a math teacher at North Iredell Middle School from 2012 through 2017 and then taught as a math teacher at Agriculture and Science Early College from 2017 through last Friday.
