Charlotte’s Symphony Park in SouthPark is about to get a $26 million facelift.

The project is being led by SouthPark Community Partners (SCP) with $13 million in private funding, including a major investment from Simon Property Group to build two permanent anchor restaurants. $8 million will come from the City of Charlotte, using existing bond funds, and an additional $5 million capital campaign has been launched for the remainder.

Planned upgrades include new public restrooms, terraced and flat lawn spaces for events, interactive children’s areas, micro-retail spaces for local entrepreneurs, and enhancements to the park’s bandshell. Public art and a segment of the SouthPark Loop trail—with two pedestrian bridges—will further connect the park to the community.

The redesign builds on years of public input and the SouthPark Forward 2035 Vision Plan.
