The South Carolina Gamecocks are on the brink of another national title after a dominant win over NC State in the semifinals. Led by Kamilla Cardoso’s stellar performance, USC secured a 78-59 victory and a spot in the NCAA title game for the third time in history.
The game started evenly, but USC took control with an 11-2 run in the first half. Despite Cardoso’s brief injury, USC led by just one point at halftime. However, they exploded in the third quarter, outscoring NC State 29-6, ultimately winning 61-37 going into the final frame.
With a perfect 37-0 record, USC aims to become the first team since UConn in 2016 to go undefeated for a season. Head Coach Dawn Staley’s leadership has been instrumental, earning her seventh SEC Coach of the Year honor.
The Gamecocks’ success also includes sweeping the SEC Regular-Season and Tournament titles for the sixth time in a decade.
