The Carolina Panthers have just traded the Cleveland Browns a conditional 2024 5th round pick for quarterback Baker Mayfield.
27-year-old Mayfield led the Browns to playoffs after the 2020 season, throwing for 3,563 yards, with 26 touchdowns and 8 interceptions that year. He was drafted along with Sam Darnold in the 2018 draft (#1 and #3 picks).
Mayfield and Darnold will now be entering training camp to compete for the top QB spot.
According to a press release from the Panthers, “Mayfield gives the Panthers’ roster some immediate credibility, with postseason credentials that their current depth chart lacked.”
