Coach Ron Rivera has just officially announced that Cam Newton will not be traveling with the Panthers this weekend to take on the Arizona Cardinals.
Backup QB Kyle Allen will be starting for the team this Sunday, with Will Grier in the back-up slot.

According to Rivera, Cam’s foot is still sore after re-aggravating it in last week’s game.
The starting QB was seen wearing a medical boot on his foot while riding through Uptown Charlotte today;

Cam’s situation has been in question ever since he didn’t suit up for practice the first time the team met after their second loss of the season.
Many rumors have been swirling that the star quarterback might be replaced by Colin Kaepernick, especially after comments from his agent insider analysts.
Coach Rivera refused to give specifics in regards to Cam’s situation yesterday, and when asked a second time, he suddenly walked out of his press conference.
The Panthers are now scheduled to play against the Arizona Cardinals this coming Sunday, Sept. 22nd starting at 4:05pm.
