NASCAR champion Kurt Busch was just pulled over and arrested for drunk and reckless driving in Iredell County.
According to Iredell Free News, “Busch, 46, was pulled over for speeding at 11:32 p.m. Tuesday after an Iredell County Sheriff’s Office deputy clocked his 2024 Lexus at 63 mph in a 45-mph zone on Brawley School Road. An N.C. Highway Patrol trooper who responded to assist with the traffic stop later charged Busch with driving while impaired after his blood-alcohol concentration registered 0.17 percent.”

After his arrest, Busch was taken into custody at the Iredell County jail. He was later released with a written promise to appear in court, with his next court date scheduled for September 19. The charges related to speeding and reckless driving are being managed by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
Busch, who retired from racing in 2023 after a 23-year career that included 34 NASCAR Cup Series wins and a championship in 2004, has a previous DUI and reckless driving arrest from 2005 in Arizona.
