A string of car break-ins has left Lake Wylie residents concerned after at least 24 vehicles were targeted overnight on Feb. 23.
The York County Sheriff’s Office released surveillance footage that show two masked suspects, one armed with what appeared to be an assault rifle, rummaging through parked cars in residential driveways.
Deputies are urging anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.
Law enforcement is also stressing the importance of basic security measures to prevent future car thefts. Residents are advised to lock their vehicles, remove valuables, park in well-lit areas, and use garages whenever possible.
Deputies are actively reviewing additional security footage and encourage residents to report suspicious activity.
