The South Carolina Brewers Guild is proud to announce the return of Hop Forward: Best of SC Craft Beer Festival, a celebration of the incredible and diverse beers being created across the Palmetto State. Taking place on Sept. 30 at the Junction 800 event space in the heart of Columbia’s historic Vista district, more than 60 breweries will come together and give attendees the opportunity to taste their way across the state’s beer industry, one sample at a time.
Originally launched in 2022, Hop Forward has already established itself as the preeminent event for discovering all that South Carolina’s beer scene has to offer in one place. With offerings across the spectrum of styles, flavors, and categories, craft beer enthusiasts will have the unique opportunity to learn and enjoy all of the latest offerings, as well as to discover new favorites and interact with the people behind the brews.
“Hop Forward brings together the Palmetto State’s finest breweries and beers and celebrates the styles, brands, and service our members are known for,” stated Pearce Fleming, president of the Board of Directors. “Our goal each year is to increase the number of participating breweries, amenities, and attractions, thus solidifying Hop Forward as our signature public facing event.”
The festival, presented by Frontier Mechanical, will also host local food trucks, music, and vendors. Proceeds will go to benefit the S.C. Brewers Guild in its mission to provide outreach, education, and support for the state’s more than 80 brewery members, as well as providing social value and community impact for local craft beer drinkers from the Lowcountry to the Upstate, and everywhere in between.
“It’s been a big year for South Carolina beer,” stated Campbell Mims, executive director of the S.C. Brewers Guild. “Hop Forward will continue to increase the statewide consumer engagement for the craft beer industry, while simultaneously showcasing South Carolina made products. We’re really looking forward to hosting this economic engine in the heart of the Palmetto State.”
Early Bird tickets can be purchased online now at a discounted rate of $55 for general admission, and $85 for VIP tickets granting early entrance, access to a private lounge, exclusive beers, and a unique limited run sampling glass. Designated Driver tickets are also available for those not partaking of the beers, and the S.C. Brewers Guild is committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all attendees.
