Charlotte just set another historic temperature record this morning.
The low temperature at the Charlotte Douglas airport never went below 78°, setting a record for the highest July 10th low ever recorded in Charlotte.
According to the National Weather Service, previous high low record was set back in 1879 with a high low temp of 77°.

The rest of the day today will be extremely hot and humid, with actual temperatures reaching the mid-to-upper 90s, and a heat index making it feel well over 100 degrees.
Friday’s thunderstorms might bring a little relief to the heat before the thermostat cranks back up early next week.
