The Charlotte City Council just voted to approve a significant redevelopment project for South Charlotte’s Providence Square.
Spearheaded by Levine Properties and Northwood Ravin, the $490 million project reimagines 105 acres along Providence Road into a sprawling mixed-use hub.
The development will feature 1,762 residential units, including 108 affordable housing units, alongside restaurants, retail spaces, and entertainment venues.
The new project would include the following:
- 4.4-acre parkland donation for community use.
- $1 million for greenway improvements connecting to McAlpine Creek.
- Roadway enhancements along Providence Road to alleviate congestion.
- $19 million in Tax Increment Grants for public infrastructure upgrades over 15 years.
The initiative aims to align with Charlotte’s vision for economic growth and inclusivity, offering enhanced community amenities and housing diversity. Construction timelines are expected to be released in the coming months as the project moves forward.
