American Airlines announced Thursday it will begin offering direct flights from Charlotte Douglas International Airport to Athens, Greece, starting June 5, 2025. The new daily route marks part of the airline’s largest-ever European schedule from Charlotte.
Athens becomes the ninth European destination served with nonstop flights from Charlotte, joining cities like Dublin, London, and Paris. Next summer, American will offer four daily flights to Greece, more than any other U.S. airline.
According to a press release from American Airlines, “With new service from Charlotte, North Carolina (CLT), to ATH, American will offer four daily flights to Greece in 2025, providing access to Greece from more U.S. airports than any other airline next summer.”
