Yesterday afternoon, a Carolina Place Mall employee pulled a gun, shot, and killed a man during a fight inside the DTLR store, according to police.
Officers responded to a call about the shooting at about 12:15pm on Sunday afternoon. Medic pronounced the victim dead on the scene when they arrived.
The shooter turned himself into the Pineville Detectives about an hour later, telling them that he shot the victim after he started a physical altercation with him inside the store.
Detectives now believe the altercation resulted as an escalation to an ongoing dispute between the two men.
No one else in the mall was injured during the shooting.
Police have not yet released the names of the two men.
Charges have not yet been filed against the shooter.
