A massive new development just north of Columbia is now planning on housing the Carolina’s very first ‘Crystal Lagoon’ – a unique concept originally planned for a 270 acre project in Huntersville.
The new lagoon project, led by Broadstreet, will include a nearly 1.5-acre beach and a 3-acre lagoon in the Oak Hills community, which spans nearly six acres.
The development is located between Fairfield Road and Crane Church Road and is zoned for over 1,000 homes, with the potential for expansion. Along with the lagoon, the community will offer tennis courts, a kids’ zone, a wedding peninsula, waterfront restaurants, and a retail hub. There are also plans for water-sport rentals, a park, and a hotel.

Crystal Lagoons have worked with builders around the world to bring tropical paradises some surprising locations using unique technology that creates turquoise lagoons with white sandy beaches, palm trees, and other tropical features.
