Kannapolis’ own Josh Sanders has progressed to the Playoff Rounds of NBC’s “The Voice” after a successful performance in the Knockout stage, representing Team Reba. Sanders secured his spot on Reba McEntire’s team during the blind auditions with a cover of Nate Smith’s “Whiskey On You.” He continued to impress in the battle rounds, performing Luke Combs’ “When It Rains It Pours.”

In the Knockout phase, aired on Monday, Sanders competed against his teammate Ashley. During this round, the coaches challenge their team members to sing solo in head-to-head battles, selecting a winner from each pairing. Coaches also have the option to “steal” a contestant from another team. Sanders won his Knockout round when McEntire chose him for his ability to “sell a song,” securing his advancement to the next stage of the competition.
