The Charlotte International Arts Festival commenced over the weekend, spanning 17 days with live performances and art installations citywide.
The festival features a variety of cultural events including dance, poetry, music, and international cuisines.
Notable highlights include Luke Jerram’s Gaia at Founders Hall, a two-day International Bazaar, the musical “MJ,” Charlotte Film Festival, Disney Pixar’s “Coco” Live-to-Film Concert, and the Festival of India and Latin American Festival. Among the installations are Aqueous, an interactive light pathway at Ballantyne’s Backyard, and Gaia, a 23-foot illuminated earth sculpture at Founders Hall. Other events include a roller-skating party, Tablao Flamenco performance, World Rhythms concert, and the Soundtracks Music Festival.
The festival also offers fitness classes on weekends at various locations.
