Lake Norman has just been ranked along side Cali’s Lake Tahoe and NY’s Lake George as one of the most beautiful freshwater lakes in America.
According to a new report by Insider, Lake Norman beat out Falls Lake, High Rock Lake, and even Lake Lure to be crowned the most beautiful freshwater lake in North Carolina.
Located just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina, Lake Norman is the largest manmade lake in the state,” the site notes in their report. “Lake Norman has 520 miles of shoreline, and its surface measures 32,475 acres. The massive lake is known as a popular destination, offering water sports, regattas, and cruises.”

The report also named Lake Marion as the most beautiful lake in South Carolina.
