Yesterday afternoon, a few hours before the Super Bowl started, a deadly shooting was reported on Billy Braham Parkway.
The tragic incident occurred at around 3:15pm near Westmont Dr.
According to CMPD officers, they responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call and discovered a man with gunshot wounds upon arriving at the scene. The man was pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital. They now believe the incident was the result of a road rage escalation.
CMPD released a public statement about the incident, saying:
“Detectives with the CMPD Homicide Unit are conducting a Homicide investigation on Billy Graham Pkwy, just down from Westmont Dr. More information to come from CMPD Public Affairs once available.”
